A mild day here in Turangi seeing a good number of anglers arriving for a weekend of fishing and catching up with friends/family on the water! The river fishing seems to be fantastic for those who are willing to get up early or spend the day putting in the footwork and covering a lot of water. It's good to hear people are improvising and trying out different ways to increase their chances, a few folks have had good success utilising a versileader/sink tip and wooly bugger after nymphing a section of water. They're a handy tool in the kit as they allow you to switch up methods without having to carry spare spools. They simply attach to the loop to your floating line, then tie on a section of tippet and streamer of choice and you're set to go!
