It's another stunning day on the Central Plateau today, and tomorrow morning it appears to be fine although there could be some wind leading on to a wet week ahead - which will be good for the rivers and the fishing! Although we had the recent rain the rivers have gone back down, with the Tongariro currently at 20.6m3/sec. The Delta has been firing and those reporting good numbers and sizes have been using heave and leave patterns or a black booby.

FOUND: Prescription glasses found on the Tongariro river in a case and brought to Sporting Life for safe keeping.

The Central Plateau Women's Fly Fishing Social Tournament is in it's final day and going from the photos and stories being circulated, there have been some beautiful fish caught and Ali (pictured above) hooked some hard fighting fish.

Support Local Trapping

Steve Grace is running an auction on Trade Me to raise money in support of the pest trapping operation run by Didymo Dave. He has tied a box of flies available for auction which you can find here by clicking on the link: Trout Files - Fully Loaded box. 66 Flies for the Taupo Region. | Trade Me Marketplace

All proceeds from the auction will go towards helping Didymo Dave and his work in supporting native wildlife creating a better experience for anglers and the wider outdoors community.
