Sunshine for Turangi

The sun is out today! and the lake is looking flat-calm this morning after being bashed by the downpours and winds. The Tongariro is fishable but highly coloured and should be clearer and lower by tomorrow.

Mixed bag of reports today on the river yet the consistent message seems to be that there are some fat fresh fish out there! The odd brown caught too.

Paula (pictured above) is out there today bringing in good numbers of fish and sent us through the photo of herself and fish caught wetlining.

Fly tying is all go as the winter fishing season sets in and those rainy/windy days call for a day at the vise. New in stock we have a good collection of Stonfo Vises, check them out by clicking on the image below:

Joe was out nymphing earlier this morning and had a ball amongst the browns and bows of the Tongariro. He came in for a bit of banter, picked up some more fly tying materials for this evening's activity and sent through these photos for us to enjoy!
