Tongariro River Flow: 90.4 cumecs (m3/sec)
This weekend started very wet with a massive increase in the water coming down the Tongariro and the other rivers. Friday night the Tongariro got up to an incredible 720 cumecs.
We've had a few reports that people have been out on the rivers regardless, but we wanted to warn people to be careful wading as the river is still flowing quite high and with the amount of water there will be a lot of changes to the riverbed which can't be seen with it being still very coloured.
The rivers are coming down and are slowly becoming less muddy.
With this water we expect a good start to the winter season. Pools will most likely have changed, and insect life may be a bit grim but will bounce back nicely.

If you are heading out onto the river, now is a good time to pick up a wading staff from us. We have had a few new versions arrive in store.
With the sun out shining people have hit the river regardless of the colour. Wet lining with dark wooly buggers is seeing some success to those who have decided to go out. We've got plenty stocked up in store.
Tight lines and stay safe out there,
