Lazy Sunday

Tongariro River Flow: 27.3 m3/sec

Weather: Sunny

It's a beautiful sunny day in Turangi, and we are certainly envious of those who are out there enjoying the outdoors! But we make the most it and enjoy a "picnic lunch" in the shop 😋 With summer approaching, folks here for reasons other than fishing are popping in store for a look around, and often comment on our NZ Topo Map selection which we try to keep well stocked. You can check out our range by clicking on the link:

Neil, Carl, Tarn and I went out for a casual evening/night fish and while the fishing was slow it was simply great to be out there and have a laugh. Tarn's intruder fly rigged with the Ahrex Trailer Hook (featured in yesterday's report) did the job as you see in the photo above, there's nothing better than bringing a fish to the net with a fly one's tied themselves.

Neil called the shop and gave us his report for the morning: dry dropper rig doing the trick, a series of good fish taking the Category 3 Hare & Copper, in #14 copper tungsten bead
