A few days ago, we anticipated a rainy/windy Saturday but those living further afield (and holding onto optimism) got themselves into Turangi and willed a great weekend adventure in spite of the weather. Blake from the bay did just that, proving us wrong and bringing in the most fish to net 😎 we cheered on but for the most part he couldn't hear us in the whistling wind! Great stuff Blake. His chosen nymph is the size 12 Category 3 Gummers Ultra Tactical Pheasant Tail  

There's some fantastic fish about and those who have visited the shop today have reported good numbers of fresh fish in various sizes and in good nick... The 2023 rainbow run continues on!

I mostly nymphed but couldn't resist a few casts on the trout spey using a Red Setter and had some fun hooking up to a couple of smaller chrome fish which was a great deal of entertainment as most will know fight well.
