Sunday 28th May 2023

We have woken up to a light drizzle in Turangi this morning. The Tongariro is flowing clear and currently sitting at 35.6m3/sec. We are expecting more rain tomorrow which should give the river a little top up but if the forecast is correct, it won't do too much damage. A Sunday morning stroll with the Winston Microspey 11ft 4wt and my new favourite line the Rio Mini Max Skagit Produce a ripper of Fresh rainbow jack that absolutely destroyed my white rabbit fly tied with a combination of Semperfli Ice dub in orange and SLF Prism dub in purple. This fella gave me a very good run for my money with multiple long runs as it dug deep into the current. A great way to start the day before work.

once again, we've got more goodies from our friends at Patagonia! Whether your objective is keeping warm on the water or trying to catch the eye of a potential love interest at the Turangi Tavern we have Patagonia provide the perfect garment for the job. Check out the full range HERE.

Neil and I are holding the fort instore today and as per most Sundays we are already discussing our plan of attack for our afternoon fish. Hopefully everyone has left a few hungry trout for us.
