Sunday 7th May 2023

The light drizzle that has shrouded the central plateau the last few days continues to fall. The Tongariro has continued to drop even though the rain has kept it somewhat topped up and is currently sitting at 43m3/sec and looks absolutely prime for both those wanting to wet line and nymph. Once again caddis nymphs are proving very popular. Fish are starting to congregate at the stream mouths and are more than happy to gobble up a heave and leave glo bug on a fast-sinking line. This poor bugger certainly looked like he had bit of a sore mouth but was released to continue his way up stream.

looks as though we are expecting more wet weather early this week and luckily, we have a full range of Patagonia Torrentshell 3L rain jackets in stock. These jackets are constructed from a lightweight 3-layer breathable and waterproof fabric. Complete with hand warmer pockets and a fleece lined neck, these are the perfect jacket to keep you warm and dry this winter.

Theresa and I have been instore today and are looking forward to joining in on the action after our 3pm closing. Theresa has a handful of globugs that she can't wait to put to use!
