Great news travels fast! It appears many anglers who are able to get over here have been enjoying the fantastic fishing - both river and lake! The pink/orange range of lures have been working a treat for those trolling, while booby/heave & leave flies have kept those anchored up at the Delta happy.

Those fishing the rivers are doing well using slushies/globugs/ paired with a suitable weighted nymph to get them down in relation to the depth/flow at hand. It seems that some are catching the bottom when using nymphs that are too heavy for the river scenario, for example a shallow/slow moving run will require less weight to get the globug down, whereas a deep fast-moving pool may require some extra weight. Now, if you rely on split shot that is entirely up to you, but it's possible to get down with heavier nymphs or casting further upstream.
