Tongariro River Flow: 34.6m3/sec
Weather: Overcast with rain later in the day
Great fishing continues! It seems there are heaps of fish present in the Tongariro at the moment, with a mixture of fresh fish and darker, spawning fish. Yesterday I spent the day on the upper river and observed lots of anglers catching fish, including a couple of triple hook-ups amongst other anglers out on the water. The river has a nice flow to it at the moment however it is quite clear, so fish accordingly! Globugs will always be successful this time of year, however recently I have done very well on more natural patterns including the Category 3 Hare and Copper in a size #14.
Scheduled for this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday are recreational water releases by Genesis on the Tongariro, so stay safe out there and be aware! Tightlines!
