The New Year of 2023 is drawing near, so we wish everyone a happy and safe time as we see more activity on the beautiful lakes and rivers of this backyard.

We are all very happy with the brilliant weather we are experiencing on the Plateau and there's been some great reports from anglers out on Lake Taupo using their chosen technique, a lot of recovering fish but some very solid specimens among them. For trolling and harling, anything green is the go-to at the moment and as for jigging, the usual suspects are working but the yellow lady is the most productive according to reports.

Shop Dad and Tarn are looking rather tired lately 😀 that's due to the daily 5am starts with smelt patterns, hoping to get a few silver bullets and the odd brown trout. Shop Dad's been getting some fat browns in the net recently, and this morning he sent through the photo of him with a lovely Tongariro brown.
It's been a very busy time in the shop getting folks geared up and ready for adventures here on the Plateau, we thank you all for your patience as we have not reported for a few days.
