Quick report-
This week has been fantastic for most anglers who have hit the water. But eeekkk chilly morning today that's for sure. A cold front came up from Antarctica which dropped the expected temps by a bit. The wind has been hassling anglers, but as usual spring is unpredictable with the weather.
We have had some awesome stories and feedback on how the river has been fishing instore from many people. We had Mike and Takumi from Auckland come down for the last week of the school holidays to give flyfishing a go. Mike had fished when he was younger but being oversees for a time meant he was starting back at it again now that he's back.
We set them up with the gear they needed and they headed out managing to hook some awesome fish and by the sounds of it had an an incredible time landing quite the number of fish.
We are still hearing that there is a mixture of recovering and fresh fish still in system which is expected. Pheasant tails nymphs, hare & coppers and slushies working very well still for everyone.
With the opening season for the rest of New Zealand yesterday, a lot of people will be heading to the smaller rivers around the country getting into the rested fish. They will be hungry for sure! We have already seen some beautiful browns landed further north.
Shayne came in and got a Sage reel and line set up which he used over the last couple of days and sent us through an awesome picture of his new set up and stunner of a fish.
Looking toward the weekend, the weather isn't looking to flash but as we all know the rain is good for fishing! There is rain forecast for most of the weekend with hopefully some gaps to let people get out there with out being soaked from head to toe.
We are slowly stocking up for the coming months so keep an eye out in the coming weeks as we plan ahead. Stock is on the way!

Tight Lines everyone
