Afternoon, Pat Nepia the Turangi Troutcast reporting. I am helping out around the store for the next couple afternoons with AB putting me in the hot seat for todays report.

Following on from Neil`s report yesterday on the recreational release set to happen this weekend there are some rather excited anglers about with the idea that more fish will push further up the Tongariro River. If your partial to swinging, then the higher levels over the weekend could be productive! I know I am slightly excited! I think we can all agree we need some good rain to really get things moving up stream again. A good range of Buggers in store at the moment so make sure your well stocked leading into the weekend.

Still loads of reports of good fish being caught coming through and long may it continue for those of us lucky enough to be out there today.

The shop is little quieter today with the school holidays coming to an end this weekend. Although, the crew in the shop have been busy receiving deliveries and restocking the shop.

Some pics from over the ANZAC weekend post the little bit of rain we had saw some rivers and river mouths light up a bit. As I get ready for the winter runs I have been trying out some bomb - point fly combos on the Guideline Elevation 6wt with the "Go The Ranga" fly being the winner so far! AB tells me their are some new colour variations coming SOON!

I have also been swinging small Woolly Buggers down stream through the tail end of some pools on the TT with some great results, its also an exciting way to catch fish.

Tight lines out there! Cheers Pat
