The long weekend was hectic seeing plenty of boat anglers come through the shop to top up the inventory of rods, sinkers, lures and the odd downrigger ball lost to the lake. Folks here to fish the Tongariro are finding more success with the dry dropper, while some are holding on to the glo-bug and picking up the odd chrome. There are more juveniles showing up, which can be annoying or fun for some 😅 they are great to target on dry flies using lightweight rods, so it's food for thought when introducing beginners especially kids!
