River Flow on the Drop! Fishing on the rise!
It's an overcast day in Turangi with the odd scatter of rain but the fishing is all on with the gradual drop in flow across all rivers/streams of the Taupo region. The Tongariro is looking fantastic and is fishing well for those nymphing and swinging. The current flow of the Tongariro is 39.1m3/sec and has been fluctuating although it appears to be on a gradual decline as per graph below:
Olive, black or brown streamers are working well with a fluoro bead and we have recently received an order from Pat Swift Flies covering a range of fly tying capes, lumo flies, weighted nymphs and cone-head buggers.
