Wednesday 19th April 2023

It was a mostly sunny morning here in Turangi with grey cloud creeping in this afternoon. Maintenance on the Poutu is still set to continue up until the 28th of this month which has kept the Tongariro flowing at 52.3m3/sec today and it looks in beautiful condition. Neil shot down to the river this morning to take his morning photo and spied a keen angler mid tussle with a feisty fish in the breakfast pool.

Graeme popped into the shop today after having a successful session on one of the Lake Taupo stream mouths and described nonstop action with fat chrome fish between 3-4lb constantly finding their way into his net with the biggest rainbow tipping the scales just on the 7lb mark. Graeme was using his Rio Aqualux intermediate fly line that he bought a couple weeks ago. This line has been a personal favourite fly line for all of us when it comes to lake fishing this season. In fact, Graeme liked his so much that he just bought a second one today! Thanks for the Photos and feedback Graeme.
