Highly Fishable

Fine and sunny start to the day here in Turangi this morning.  No wind as of 9:00am.  The Tongariro River is clear and in a highly fishable condition flowing at 33 cumecs.

We just got smashed by anglers in the shop yesterday….. plenty of anglers have turned up for the weekend to fish.  Most anglers through the shop had caught fish though or had “bites”.  A few more wetliners through the shop yesterday afternoon.

We are only about two weeks away now from being inundated by the “Yellow Haze” …… the pine tree pollen will start soon.  Those of you who are Asthmatic or suffer bad Hay Fever beware. You almost need windscreen wipers on your sunglasses with little spray washers to clear it of the lenses.

(Below) The following photos were sent in late yesterday afternoon thanks to PC and Sherrie who caught up with local angler Laurie who had just come back from the Tongariro River Delta with some nice looking fish that he managed to intercept ready to run.
